When the igniter ages to the point that it no longer completes the drying times as required, or worse, not starting the drying, it is time to replace the igniter. When completing this repair, the connector plug might need to be removed and spliced to the range wiring using porcelain wire nuts. Before you begin this repair, disconnect the power source from the oven, and shut off the gas supply.

Over time, igniters can wear out and no longer light the gas as efficiently as they did when new. If your dryer is taking longer to complete cycles or fails to start, it’s time to replace the igniter. Note that during installation, the connector plug may need to be removed and spliced into the dryer’s wiring using porcelain wire nuts.

Before starting this repair, always disconnect the power source and shut off the gas supply for safety.
